The Coach House adjoining Lower House comprises the main art school building. It has been completely refurbished to provide the art school with more space and much-improved facilities.

.
The Top Studio is our largest room, running the entire length of the first floor of the coach house and it’s the heart of the art school. In order to get a really light, airy environment we removed the roof and re-built it at a higher pitch with several large roof lights bringing in the northern light. The studio is equipped with workbenches, easels, sinks and all of the equipment and materials required for painting, drawing, printing, and sculpture, as well as computers linked to a scanner and A3 printer.
.

The Dark Room is completely enclosed on the ground floor and is a cool, quiet space. It has all the necessary equipment for film photography as well as an exposure unit for preparing photographic silk screens.
The Framing Workshop is also based on the ground floor and provides an extra large working space especially for printing on our flat bed press.

Lower House, a Visit Britain 4 star guest house is the residential part of the school. We also have a dining room for student use and an extensive library of both art books and films. More detailed information can be found on the Accommodation page or the Lower House web site.

Cornwall. We are fortunate to be in such a beautiful location, now designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For location work we use the Tamar Valley itself, Bodmin Moor on one side and Dartmoor on the other. Both the north and south coasts and beaches are a short distance away. Talland Bay on the south coast is one of our favourite spots but we frequently use the Atlantic coast as well.
